Completely agree that Nova was not equal to his villains. In that first dozen issues he was building a nice rogues gallery.

My thoughts on Nova I've expressed before, but in short he came across as Green Lantern light, and a Spider Man wannabe - only not as lovable loser but rather as a Loser (capital L).



Yeah, if I remember correctly, Rich Rider's "Flash Thompson", Mike Burley, was not only an athlete but a top student, too. I don't know where Marv Wolfman wanted to go with Nova. Other than the Nova powers, he didn't have much going for him.

I thought the Corrupter was pretty good as a nasty unlikable villain and Blackout was interesting since he was a different kind of crazy.
Megaman was dull, though, and I never really understood Dr. Sun.
