I first encountered Denny O'Neil as "Sergius O'Shaughnessy", his pen name at Charlton Comics when he was working also for Marvel and soon for DC. His character "The Man Called Loco" was a early favorite in partnership with P.A.M. and his epic sci-fi classic "Children of Doom". He also did some remarkable stuff with Jim Aparo, an artist who like O'Neil would find success at DC. Yet one more passing of a remarkable and crucial generation of creators. Rest in peace.
