Not unsurprising given his age but still makes you take notice. As KATS said, he is probably the inker I first noticed as a fan, since his inking work on the Fantastic Four is more influential than probably any other inkers work. He created the look of that book as much as anyone outside of Kirby. Didn't he work on the Frenz era of Thor? Everything he touched look great.

Yep. As I related on another site, it wasn't until roughly 13 years after buying my first comic that I was reading a Ron Frenz Thor inked by Joe when suddenly I realized "Now this is proper Marvel art, just like when they were at their height!"*

And the realization extended (for the very first time) that it was the Inker who was the connective tissue. So he was the first inker I ever identified for his art and the only one whose name in the credits has ever made me say "Excellent Joe Sinnott did this one!"

*Of course it didn't hurt that Ron Frenz was aping Kirby.

I noticed the same about his FF work around issue 300. I had to look up the books, and he was inking John Buscema and Keith Pollard. That felt like a throwback to me as much as the Thor run.

I also noticed that he inked Al Milgrom on The Avengers and West Coast Avengers in the early 80s. I'd be interested in re-checking out those issues as I'm not a fan of Milgrom's pencils but love Sinnott's inks.
