I've only seen Ben-Hur once or twice, but I remember being impressed with it, especially the effects and stunt work(the chariot scenes). I should really give it another watch.

I'd recommend giving it another watch. The chariot race holds up against any action scene in cinema. Unlike some action scenes in old films (for example "Raiders of the lost ark". Watching the stuntwork in that one, you notice all the flaws).
