Great image to usher in what would be a great weekend holiday if not for covid.

Were horror comics the only medium that got away with showing kids in such mortal danger? Not that I like seeing kids in danger but one of the things I love about comics is how easily and powerfully they can bring you back to your childhood and when I was a kid I loved scary stuff.

When I think of kids in danger the thing that comes to mind is Stephen King. I was reading some of his 70s and early 80s books by the mid 80s and he frequently had kids as the heroes, but also getting mutilated.
