I didn't know Dark Shadows got a movie. It was a daytime soap opera, wasn't it? Do they usually get the film treatment?

I don't think so but I'm guessing the crossover to the supernatural brought in a different audience that would go to see a soap opera movie in the theaters. A google search of "soap opera movies" didn't lead to much, aside from Payton Place, which I believe had movies as well as daily soaps.

Gold Key had a Dark Shadows series that lasted until 1976 as well!
