Why? The point was that whatever they can show, our imaginations can conjure more powerful imagery. It's the classic horror movie ideology about what you don't see that scares you more.

I swear, some people like to take all the fun out of it. I'm fine right as-is.

Exactly. It's a form of audience participation that's more suggestive than having everything thrown out into the open, or handed out. It makes one think more about it.... like we're doing now. Here we see the Hulk standing up to Black Bolt. After that, what we next see is the ultimate results of an "off-screen" beating: a brutalized Black Bolt, and a triumphant Hulk. I think once audiences began being exposed to things like physically-repelling sights on a regular basis, they became used to it. At some point, they started EXPECTING it, which totally ruins the effect a scene SHOULD have. In this case, what Greg Pak did was surprising, it was unexpected.... and it's got us imagining just how savage that battle must have been.
