It was an impressive double spread at a glance. The 3 panels definitely helped from it being gratuitous pagewaste as only a big sloppy-ish double splash. Mostly because it was a bit unclear. Is he gas or solid? How humongous is he with nothing in the landscape to compare? Is that a mountain range at he is dwarfing at his feet? Why does it look like he has mountain rock for feet? Is he outside the city now? Did he absorb all the infectious gamma? Yeah, yeah, we gotta wait 30 days. Still, a bit more context would've given something to chew on.

Look closer.

There's roads on the right and left side of the image. Below Reader's head/panel there's a forest. Those square plots around the panel also give some scale as well (on the right side of Reader's head/panel)

As far as gas or solid, seems clear he's gas as the clouds in the background have lightning strikes coming from them, and Creel has them too from his similarly cloudy look.

Either way, it's gamma, so it can be both (ha!)

My guess is that's not a mountain range, but showing the radiation being sucked up over the town to form Gamma Creel since the roads lead into it and presumably roads lead to towns.
