I planned to go back and read Cates' Thor run. I don't know why I stopped, but his first four issues of that series were really good. However, I don't see why Galactus would give one of his nemeses son's a power boost, but I'll check into it and his take on Donald Blake.

In his first issue of Hulk, I'll personally give him an "A". He fixed two things in Hulk's continuity that troubled me for some time. Banner losing his creative brain in Immortal Hulk was cheating by destroying the magic that Stan Lee and Jack Kirby envisioned the character to be. It ultimately served no purpose to do. He fixed it by suggesting Banner improved on some stolen technology and somehow infused it in Hulk's body. The other ambitious and delightful repair was having Banner mentality reduce all these unnecessary incarnations of Hulk...back to three. Hopefully going back to the blueprint, the only story you'll need in Hulk lore, the 'Gamma Ramifications' from issue #393.

I do have a few trepidations but so far really good. Different and imaginative. Feels like Marvel.
