| > I picked up a couple of interesting Indy titles this week. |
> First was Dark Horse's reboot of Conan, retitled Conan the Cimmerian, and started over with a zero issue. It's better than I expected. They adapt the REH poem "Cimmeria" and blend it into a nicely coreographed bit of Hyperborean violence. The artwork seemed a bit brighter this time around, not as muddy as in the past few issues. This gives me hope for the future.
I got all of the new Conan TPB's that BWS did the art on, and then I stopped. I love his artwork, but his early work is absolutely stunning.
| > Also up was Project Superpowers #4. This one seemed more focused than the last several, and hopefully this will read great when I've got all the installments. Another beautiful Ross cover, but also a pretty well-drawn story underneath. The colors do seem a bit too muted for my tastes. These are some brightly clad characters, but they all seem a it too dark somehow. |
I had really high hopes for this series, but was greatly disappointed. I dropped it after the third issue.
