Project Black Sky FCBD 2014

Even not being familiar with the Dark Horse Universe this was a good reader and the two lead heroes did a good job - on their mission and keeping it engaging enough. Not sure about jumping on board but what the heck- this was free AND it does have me considering it?

How did this showing compare to previous Captain Midnight and/or Brain Boy tales? Ape-X is a DHUniverse regular, too, right? Are Charlotte and Jones regulars? She seemed to have spunk in her unfortunately short cameo. His speech bubbles were a fun novelty and his apparent 'translocation power and eye beams' does have me somewhat curious to find out more.

I miss Dad and Dan.

It was a pretty good showing of Captain Midnight (who seems to be the lynchpin character for the Dark Horse Heroes revival -- his work in the '40's apparently set up the whole Black Sky project that is in the background of the books). Can't say about Brain Boy (although he was interesting here for sure). Ape-X was completely new (and someone I'd read more of -- loved the sign language dialogue -- really made me chuckle). Charlotte and Jones are regulars of the Capt Midnight title (which has really come into it's own the past few issues, and I would definitely recommend).

Captain Midnight is definitely one of the better superhero books on the market at the moment, while Ghost and X are good, but in a different way (X is a bit uber-violent, while Ghost has a whole demon-fighter thing going on).
