I only didn't post about this as I was unsure what board it belonged to, so I was waiting for soemone else to jump in! \:\)

I loved the first issue.

Parker's brilliant but he can go for overcomplicated explanations ... I totally understand the necessity for an alternate universe-spanning story, but I hope he doesn't overdo it (that is, as many characters as possible really ought to be grouped together in same worlds in my opinion).

Parker is generally more of a miss than a hit for me as a writer. I feel that we like a lot of the same stuff and characters but he often wants to go off model with them to the degree of missing the point. I enjoyed the first issue quite a bit. Unfortunately, I've enjoyed the first issues of other stuff he's written as well only to wish I had stayed away and kept my money by the end. I liked the Lone Ranger-esque origin of Space Ghost given here. It's simple and elegant, explaining a lot by showing us the action without simply telling.

I couldn't help but smile when Birdman and Avenger appeared (also loved the line that his voice carries as the voice-actor certainly did have a great, strong voice). Just wish they hadn't given him black pants. And, I certainly hope we don't get Mightor in the superhero costume that's on the cover. That his costume is made of animal skins and furs is in keeping with the concept of the character- a superhero tights costume misses the point.
