My Independent pull list has gotten quite large. Meanwhile, my Marvel and DC pull lists have shrunken to less than ten books per company.

Here's my current Independents pull list:

ACTION LABS
Actionverse
First Hero
Midnight Tiger
Stray
Mollie Danger
Hero Cats
Dog of Wonder
Super Human Resources
Zoe Dare

BOOM!
Power Rangers (any)

CHAPTERHOUSE COMICS
Captain Canuck (any)
Northguard (any)
The Fourth Planet

DARBY POP
Bruce Lee (any)

DEVIL'S DUE/1FIRST
Badger

DYNAMITE
Xena

GRAPHIC INDIA
Reincarnation Man

IDW
Action Man
Micronauts
ROM

Of the companies listed above, the ones I feel emotionally connected to are ACTION LABS and CHAPTERHOUSE COMICS. The rest of the companies are just vehicles for interesting books. Remember how you used to feel emotionally connected to Marvel or DC? For some reason I feel like that toward ACTION LABS and CHAPTERHOUSE COMICS. It's something about how they present themselves. Like Stan Lee's Soapbox back in the day, or the Legion of Super-Heroes Letters Page. They make me want to be part of their movement.

What Independent comics do you buy regularly?

I understand where you are coming from in the emotionally attached department, AC. For me its the Valiant Universe. They've built a connected universe of fascinating heroes and villains.
My favorites from Valiant are Ninjak and the Eternal Warrior, but, I am buying most everything they put on the shelves. Bloodshot, XO Manowar, Rai, Imperium, Archer and Armstrong and eagerly await new material from Quantum and Woody. I've been buying up trades to catch up the back stories of all these characters as time and money permits. Action, intrigue, mystery, humor, this universe has it all with great emotional depth and stability with their individual characterizations.
Other companies.
IDW
Wynonna Earp
October Faction
Ragnorak
Godzilla

IMAGE
Mythic
Dream Police
Invincible
Savage Dragon
Black Road
East of West

DYNAMITE
Vampirella's latest series
Army of Darkness (love the character of Ash Williams)
Gold Key Alliance
Jim Butchers Dresden Files
James Bond

And some other great books out there I enjoy are:
Astro City
Future Quest
Afterlife with Archie
Hellchild
Mercury Heat
Tarot, Witch of the Black Rose

There's probably a few I am forgetting, too.

Its a lot of money Marvel is not getting from me anymore. The quality and characterization just is not good enough for my expectations and past experience with that company. I do pick up an occasional Marvel book when it features a member of the Fantastic Four. That's about it.
There are a lot of good books from the indie scene that promote a vast variety of different types of stories that are exciting and fun to read. Its been fun searching them out and getting emotionally invested. Its a great feeling and I'm glad they are out there and that I've given them a try. Its a brand new rush that I cannot capture with Marvel anymore.
