I would love to see the Johnny/Haji friendship depicted in live action. Bandit in live action is also a fun prospect.

Yes, unfortunately. But Coast to Coast highlights the problem with Superman-styled characters, like Space Ghost, Bird Man, and Mightor. I think modern audiences WANT to see such characters as ridiculous. Modern people just really don't believe in an archangel swooping down to save them. It has to be done for laughs or it won't be accepted. This is why the current Superman film franchise has shied away from the archangel motif. Superman in those films is very much a moral question mark, at least in the minds of the characters in the film.
