Subj: I am very surprised by her return in 2017 ... because Jean-Claude Forest died in 1998

Barbarella 001

> Earth's star-crossed daughter is back! When Barbarella wanders into a war zone, the theocratic rulers of Parosia arrest and imprison her. A prison break is brewing, but now that she knows what the Parosians do to their own citizens Barbarella decides to make this fight her own...

Sooo classic, vintage, nostalgic... how're they gonna reimagine this character? Who else is going to try this tomorrow? Any reviews would be welcome. Sooo many beautiful variants. Sooo comixology has no previe pages not up yet - which is odd. Sooo tempted still...

EDIT ½hr later: Found a SEVEN page preview here for your convenience!:

I wonder how they got the rights to use the character, so long after the death of her creator.

Maybe, they convinced the current owners of the intellectual property ?

... I don't know if there are heirs.

Still, in my head, Barbarella is so associated with the style of her creator that I cannot imagine anybody else drawing her ...
