> Strange twists and turns abound as we delve deeper into the secret life of Birdman, and explore the surprising origin of Birdman’s deadliest foe—Mentok the Mind-Taker!

The first half, the canon visual eerie origin of (a teen) Mentok, sort of stretched out, sort of details free. The second half was the verbal origin of "Son of Birdman" from the POV of Jen Holder, some familysweet Birdman development topped off with a satisfying cliffhanger. The very clever analogy comparing Birdman's original possessive incarnation by Ra as to a block of ice in a glass of water added a nice highlight to an otherwise standard, but okay, chapter.

Did you find it all average or above average? How is this series flying?

Do you think it's similar to when Khonshu takes charge of his Moon Knight avatar in the past?

I found this arc strangely uninvolving, although I welcomed the appearance of Birdboy. I realised after the fact that it wasn't writted by Jeff Parker, which explained a lot. I hope he returns for the next arc.
