Is wildstorm a new series? Sounds interesting.

These days, when he works for mainstream comics, Warren Ellis do "premises" of new series, for lack of a better word.

A few years ago, he did it with Moon Knight. In a few issues, he defined how Moon Knight would work as a character but he didn't develop full long-term stories about the character.

This time, he is doing it with the Wildstorm characters in a separated rebooted universe (thus, not the versions who are interacting with DC main characters).

Thus, he wrote a limited series introducing the new Grifter, Engineer, Zealot, Jacob Marlowe, etc.

In this reality, the main characters are not superheroes but operatives working for different factions.

The aliens are not the real threat. The control of Earth is split between 2 different secret societies, one on Earth's ground, the other into space around Earth's orbit.

Jacob Marlowe is reinvented as a rogue inventor & businessman who tries to shake the statu quo (thus, his Cover Action Team is "wild").

After Ellis will leave the book, other writers are supposed to use his ideas in different series centered around the main characters.
