Panini is an Italian publisher, which has purchased Marvel comics reprint rights worldwide. This was done as part of Marvel's effort to recover from bankruptcy that it fell in the 1990s.
For example, here in Brazil, the Marvel material has been reprinted for over 20 years by a publisher called Abril, until their licensing agreement expired in December 2001. So, from January 2002, Panini Comics started publishing these titles here. Currently, Panini publishes the regular Marvel material and another publisher named Saraiva, publishes, with Panini's permission, TPBs with classic material such as the Micheline / Layton Iron Man runs for example.
Seriously good. They publish Spidey in the UK and it’s sold in newsagents and supermarkets and gets far more sales to the kids than comics sold singly do. Yes they are a few months old the stories but the covers are card and far more resilient and better made than the original comicbook paper.
