IMO, Dan Slott borrows ideas from V for Vendetta, Planet of the Apes, Blade Runner and the Takeshi Kovacs trilogy.

In these dystopias, there are no heroes and people have to pick a side and only time will tell if they are right or wrong to do so.

I suppose that Tony will be back at the end, just like Peter & Otto after Superior Spider-Man, and the statu quo will be restored.

In Woken Furies, Takeshi Kovacs is hunted by a younger version of himself duplicated into a different body...
