Your story is way better than what happened in the 1970s books. \:\-\)

Ha, thanks!

    Quote:
Mister Kline is probably one of the weakest main characters created by Gerry Conway and, paradoxally, it was his one of his most ambitious.

I agree. It's like the Baal/Kline/Final Sons of Man saga was The Spider-Clone/ Crossing Saga of its time. Massive potential that went off the rails.

    Quote:
I was not born when the issues were released in the 1970s but, later, in the 1980s, I read a reprint of Daredevil #80-81.

Nor I.

    Quote:
In this issue, Mister Kline was clearly presented as a "Big Bad" and he worked for someone who was even more dangerous. So, you can imagine my disappointment when I learned, much later, the whole story about Mister Kline.

I wish we knew who Gerry intended the "Big Bad" Mister Kline represented to be.

    Quote:
Adam Warlock vs Magus, Days of Future Past, Terminator, Future Imperfect, Looper and Predestination are based upon the same concept.

Predestination was adapted directly from Robert Heinlein's short story from 1958, "All You Zombies --"

    Quote:
Under different circumstances, Mister Kline could have become an interesting Black Widow archenemy. Much later, Natasha encountered a similar threat, the Prophet of Chaos.

Originally I wondered if Gerry was intending Baal to be Tony Stark (his mind downloaded into a computer before he died, and he ends up being the last sentient thing on earth thousands of years later).

    Quote:
Even now, we don't know who were the true sponsors of the Chaos organization but their methods are not different from Baal and the Final Sons of Man.

It's a pity whoever wrote the latter story didn't instead return to the Baal/Kline/Final Sons of Man story and come up with a solution for that instead.
