Yeah, I knew old squid face was supposedly the REAL Arthur...but have they revealed how he got that way or changed him back yet? So, that flashback like sequence in issue 40 is the real deal...that he's a science experiment gone awry? Sounds MARVELous. I really think that issues 15-39 were some of the best Aquaman stuff done. Right up thee with the old Aparo stuff I loved. I also thought it was a shame that no one seems to know how to write Aquaman and make him interesting...so they keep screwing him up. Every now and again a writer tries. One avenue that I always thought was neat was when he commanded Vixen to "stop" in an issue of JLA. He used that power once and then they never explored it again. Poor Aquaman. He gets great statues and action figures...but always gets the poopy end of the stick in the comics. Maybe he needs to join the JSA. I know Johns could do him justice.

While I might be in the minority for my money the best Aquaman run in the last 15 years was Peter Davids. But saddly it seems that all his work has been bulldozed over since then to the point where it's not even the same man in the book.
