> I never cared for Vibe. Gerry Conway portrayed him as an hispanic stereotype and that was just wrong. While I admit I am not the most PC of people, I felt for any hispanic comic fans that read Conway's Detroit League. Of the new members of the JLA during the Detroit era, I liked Steel and Vixen. But I much preferred Vixen back in her first appearance in ACTION COMICS instead of JLA.

What killed me about Vibe is that he was played as such a ridiculous stereotype... and then we learn he's been pulling a Luke Cage and faking it for the gang's sake so he'll be underestimated about 15 minutes before they killed him off. I don't think you can read his exit issue without liking him a little, if nowhere else.

Ahhh. I remember that now. I agree it was a little too late.

Later Booster Gold formed the Conglomerate and Vibe's brother joined. Don't recall anything that added or repaired the Vibe legacy though.
I still feel a bit of surrealism whenever I saw Vibe cameo on the JLU catoons.
