While I admit I am not the most PC of people, I felt for any hispanic comic fans that read Conway's Detroit League. Of the new members of the JLA during the Detroit era, I liked Steel and Vixen. But I much preferred Vixen back in her first appearance in ACTION COMICS instead of JLA.

Not much love for Steel either. It's funny. I have the entire(give or take an issue) of the Detroit League. But Steel, Vibe, and Gypsy just never evolved into characters worthy of League status. When Commander Steel popped up I was really pleased though.

Gypsy just looked like a Modonna clone with bad hair. But she could camo up real good.

But Vixen....lots of potential. I missed her early Action appearances but she was handled really well in Animal Man.

I always preferred/still prefer Animal Man to Vixen. I have never got the real feeling that Vixen is handled nor portrayed properly. It would be nicer if there was something that really made her stand out as something other than an Animal Man lite.

... and, yes, I am biased ;\)
