It must get tedious for you folks to keep reading my endless criticism and disappointment with much of JLA's early-70's output, and I'm certainly not sparking much discussion of same (though I suspect much of that is due to relatively few of you having ever seen these issues--if somebody reads a year's worth of Kamandi or Conan, I'll have nothing to add too).

In my case, it's partly because I really agree with the essentials of your take, and a "YEAH!" isn't exactly the most fascinating observation I can make. \:\) That'll change when we get to Starbreaker... I'm a fan of that arc and am still, all these years later, trying to figure out why in the heck they picked that particular guest star for it. \:\)

I was thinkin' about that too, TJ. Wasn't Dr. Strange pretty popular at Marvel around that time, or was his book already cancelled?

DC may've wanted a counterpart to Strange, and Fate was on strongly established on Earth-2 and relegated to guest-appearances. Maybe DC was testing the waters for Sargon, but reader response was a lot weaker than they'd hoped for?

Gernot...
