I was thinkin' about that too, TJ. Wasn't Dr. Strange pretty popular at Marvel around that time, or was his book already cancelled?
DC may've wanted a counterpart to Strange, and Fate was on strongly established on Earth-2 and relegated to guest-appearances. Maybe DC was testing the waters for Sargon, but reader response was a lot weaker than they'd hoped for?
