Reply Subj: Is this the worst JLA volume ever? Posted: Thu Feb 07, 2008 at 05:23:19 am EST
> I was very disappointed with the Meltzer's run in this title. And the McDuffye's work is not better so far... I have to disagree with you. Both Meltzer and McDuffie's runs are pretty good but they can't beat Grant Morrison's theratical run and the comedic antics of the Giffen/DeMatteis run. The worst volume is the period of the JLDetroit era. DC made a bad decision to transform the World's Greatest Super-Heroes into a poor man's DC version of the X-Men. I left the series when Superman, Wonder Woman and Flash called it quits. The second worst is the period post-Death of Superman. All three Justice League books at the time were splintered and lacked focus. Got even worse post-Zero Hour. I left the series after Dan Jurgen's run. I'm satisified. Although, Meltzer's JLA reads way better as a graphic novel than a monthly comicbook series.
