DrawingBoard.orgFrom what I heard, Blue Beetle's rights outside of the comics were still locked up and did not expire until after JLU ended. This is why Blue Beetle will be in "Batman: The Brave & The Bold". Captain Marvel was in the same boat, but DC and WB were able to work out an agreement for a one shot episode.
