So, Congorilla's upcoming inclusion in the new JL title has something bothering me:

I remember back in 1992 there was a Congorilla miniseries, but of the story I don't remember anything, just some Bolland covers.

Who wrote and drew that series (was it Jay Geldhof?) and what was it about?

Steve Englehart wrote it, which is really pretty much all you need to know about how good it is. \:\) I've been tracking the issues down for a few years now, but what I have is really interesting. Basically, Bill has retired to live out the rest of his life in the jungle as Congorilla, while the monkey's mind is trapped in Bill's dying body. He gives the body switching ring to his sidekick from the old days. A few years later, Bill wakes up in a hospital in the United States in his best friend's body after it was hurt in a car crash. Bill surmises that the shock of the wreck caused his friend to use the ring to switch bodies with him... until Congorilla breaks in and tries to murder Bill. It seems his old sidekick decided that he wanted the power instead of Bill. Hijinks ensue. \:\)
