I'm a relative newcomer to DC comics, but I like the creative team and lineup for this book. But one thing struck me pretty hard in this issue - Green Lantern was portrayed as a blustering doofus. Does Hal always get so little respect in the JLA, or is this a new phenomenon? I did like the portrayal of Batman, but it seemed to me Batman was promoted at Green Lantern's expense... and I don't like that kind of writing, generally.

Did traditional Batman disrespect Green Lantern (pre-Parralax)?

Define "traditional."

Since 1986, Batman treats every hero like dirt. I miss the good Batman, the one who was healthy enough to laugh with his friends, enjoy a cup of coffee after a mission, and so on.

You can KEEP the "kewl" Batman. He's not cool at all.
