I really hate that. Even on Marvel's side the Gods are shown as buffon's when it comes to science. Which makes no sense, as there are Gods of knowledge, craft, art, and inventions in just about every pantheon. I understand that they can be a "Deus Ex Machina" but why involve them in first place if you're just going to cripple them.

But are the Gods capable of recognising Parallel worlds?
 I can easily accept that they are bound by their own unique reality and are incapable of sensing of accepting the idea there are other worlds out there with analogues of themselves and creation. Indeed the very idea might be blasphemous to them as the likes of Zeus and Odin consider themselves singularly unique and divine. They are after all Gods, and there can be only one Zeus/Odin in creation.
