I won't spoil this, I know the book only came out today.

I'm not thrilled with the big surprise ending. I certainly will not be happy if the character who seems to have been offed has been. The story was not without it's merits, and it kinda sorta maybe makes sense in the long run.. but.. well.. doesn't. the secret to Pandora's Box.. well. heck, the God's didn't figure this out?

Plus Flashpoint just serves less and less of a purpose, it seems.

I did find it interesting that Geoff-Mr Fixit-Johns made the very bold move of beginning the issue with a flashback to the League's early adventures that was almost identical to the original stories of the Silver-Age. We see then facing the original Weapons Master, Starro, Amazo.... all were deliberate scenes culled from those original stories. While we can never go back to the old continuity now it does strike me as telling that writers like Johns still take a conservative view and are trying to reconcile the present with the supposedly vetoed past.  Another point of interest is the status of Atomica. Was there ever an Atom in the DCU? I've seen Ray Palmer name checked but don't know if he adopted the Atom guise, certainly though I do remember that Ryan Choi was supposed to become the Atom and take a place in the League's line up. I wonder if the plan changed?
