It really shouldn't matter though. They should've been able to tell right away that it was tech and not magic even if they couldn't tell it's origin. I mean the heroes have no issue telling apart the two when they encounter a unknown object if it was magic or tech.
As I said elsewhere I think the decision to switch the box to being of earth-3 origin was made very late in the day and with little concession to what had already been established about it, hence it doesn't quite make sense. I'm more flexible when it comes to the Gods being deceived by it as by their nature they are insular and inflexible in their thinking, when it comes to magic and the cosmic the line becomes indistinguishable so whatever science powers the box would indeed look like magic to such beings. They are Gods, but that does not alone mean they are omniscient.

Also, how advance is Earth 3 that no one on Earth 2 was unable to recognize Pandora's box as tech?
I agree with the criticism. But it is tempered by the knowledge that we know nothing about who built it or how. You can have something like this box or the Miracle Machine that to all intents and purposes looks and functions like magic but is created by scientific means. It's not dissimilar to a Cosmic Cube or Black Hand's power rod, created by technology but powered by the Cosmic.
