Previous Post
on a comic book day far far away..
I was thinking there was a change, but the final issue of Trinity was in the can a long while back, we got a glimpse of this issue way back on Free Comic Book Day 2012? And obviously the whole Forever Evil thing was already in motion, E3 was in motion. I like to think that some story lines made more sense and were changed at the last minute (FOREVER waiting for Doom slaughtering his one true love for a little power to be retconned) but it really looks like they thought the misdirection on Pandora's Looks Nothing Like A Box was a clever way to trick readers.

I can't see it as being deliberate misdirection, although Trinity War has been planned for many months details were changing all the time. If it wasn't a last minute change in plot then I think it may simply be a case of Geoff Johns not explaining to other writers involved what the Box really was. As I say I felt the whole thing was very clumsy, it doesn't make much sense and as with the opener issue of Forever Evil we are asked to just accept a lot of stuff with no explanation. That's not to say Forever Evil wasn't enjoyable, just that the plotting leading up to it and enabling the Crime Syndicate to arrive was ramshackle to say the least...
