He's just a decent, honest kid who finds himself thrust in the middle of all of this stuff. And when he gets indoctrinated by Amanda Waller into the government agency he's in.. well the whole blurred line of morality certainly doesn't sit well with him. He's NOT one of modern comics 'darker/cynical' types, he's really more like a classic Stan Lee type of normal person in extraordinary circumstances.
