And that complaint isn't limited to just this JL issue. Every new comic book I look at is an eye sore because I can't tell what the hell is going on.
Endless characters, endless reveals, endless dystopian "misery porn" as the OP puts it.
There is no elegant simplicity/readability in comic book story-telling anymore. It's all clutter and the droning voice-over narration of those infernal internal monologue boxes.
Plus, seeing Nick Lachey's stupid face in the panels selling Twix bars doesn't sweeten the deal.

This was a dense and complicated tale. It seems there's difficulty in finding the sweet spot between cramming too much into one issue or dragging way to little out of six. I enjoyed this issue a lot more than others seem to have but admit to being a little overwhelmed. In contrast this week's Green Arrow was pretty much perfect in pacing and content.
