Quote:Just why are AM and darkseid choosing now to come to blows, for have they not been aware of each other for a long time?
Quote:Are they really now the two most powerful baddies in the new DCU?
Yes, these two are very much it in terms of being the most powerful and dangerous villains in the DC Universe, although the stated reason for the Anti-monitor reemrging is that he believes Darkseid holds the key to ending his own suffering and cycle of destruction this seems to vague a motive for a War on the scale as this.
As I said elsewhere I believe this story was likely meant to be the aborted big crossover with Earth-2 and its heroes, there is a roughness to the plot that supports this as while it contains the usual Geoff Johns formula for BIG events the actual rationale for what is happening is ropey at best. When two big-name cosmic forces like Darkseid and the Anti-Monitor go to war the hyle and publicity for the storyline should be very clear on what the motive is, so far howeveer the plot feels vague and with with no indication what the actual endpoint will be. When these two villains go at it it should be universe changing, but none of the publicity or plot suggests this is going to been the case.
So I do wonder what the purpose of this story will be.
Will this be like when Galactus was seeking out original Beyonder and try to force him to destroy him then?
