If you go to youtube, you can find the "cut scenes" from the video game. That is a much better story than what has been offered by Injustice: Gods Among Us for the last four years.  The idea of Superman having a tragic fall isn't original, and it's been done before.  However, for the members of the Justice League to side with him is beyond incredulous.  It falls down a very simplistic line: super-powered heroes stand with Superman, and urban crime fighters side with the Batman.  There're nearly no detractors on either side, they just fall in line.  You would think that Wonder Woman would be the most averse to what Superman is doing, as it represents the worst of "Man's World", but she just starts cracking heads as well.  It is as if all of the League, in the Injustice world, are dysfunctional, along with all of the supporting characters as well.

What's more, if Superman is to be evil, then let him go all the way with it.  He says that Batman is his worst problem, yet every time he has a chance to kill him, he doesn't.  It's beyond transparent, because Batman survives not through clever storytelling, but from the necessity of the comic being a tie-in to the video game.  That's it.  Any character that is present for the game will survive, escape, return, etc., while the rest are killed to serve up faux-consequences of an evil Superman.

Some take it as an Elseworlds, which is fair and fine, but the writing and structure of the story is so poor and demands more than disbelief, it demands stupidity of a reader, I've never warmed up to the series, though I've been reviewing it for nearly five years now.

In my opinion i completely disagree. I think (and have talked about on these boards since it began) that IJ:GAU is another exmaple of how DC's best is always in elseworld's and unique properties. i akin this to Kingdomdom Come, DKR and Watchmen in quality for at least the first 3 years.
