I've just read this issue for the secondd time, and I have slightly mixed feelings on it, I love the two Wildcats (Tommy has potential, I think, although I still question the wisdom of giving Ted a son) and I liked the scenes between Power Girl and Starman. It was nice to see Jesse defending Damage, who had simply made a mistake to (don't ask me WHY I liked that, but I did for some reason).

Seeing the (now disgraced) F.B.I agent Graves take up the identity of mr. America was also a nice touch (arguably, not a suprise, but a nice touch none the less) and it exemplified ted's speech to Tommy personally. As a fan of the DnA Legion, and anti Waid's Legion, I was also pleased to see Dream Girl. I don't know what's happening with this (and Dream Girl's relationship with Star Boy acknowledged) but I *am* looking forward to the JSA/JLA cross-over (although I won't be picking up the JLA issues, if I can avoid it).

The only thing I'm not sure about is Power Girl as Chairwoman, I just don't think it will work for her character (of course, it doesn''t help that I'm not fond of the character anyway), I would be MUCH more interested in seeing Stargirl as the chairwoman, given how much she has matured whilst she has been with the JSA. Power Girl as chairwoman doesn't work for me, simply because I consider her a scrapper, and a powerhouse but NOT chairwoman material. I'm also not sure about Jesse's power level, and I would like Geoff take some time to define that as well as establish exactly how long they have been married. (It's a mibnor detail, but it would add to the characters for me.)

Cheers.

James.

Althought I have no problems with Power Girl as a in-field "sarge", I do have a hard time considering her as the chairman of a group with such veterans as Garrick, Scott, Hall, Ted, Canary or Hawkins, and brains like Cross and Holt... heck, about everybody else would seem at least as good at the task.

Maybe it has to do that she a confused kind of heroine, barely in control of her powers and with a serious 'tude to boot.

To make her chairman, as a writer I would make her pass throught an ordeal where at least one of her problem would be fixed; Either the confusing (and tiring) origin lame-o, or the arrogance thing, which would permit her to assess the action instead of just rushing in. But frankly I like the scrapper attitude better than the origin ad nauseam gimmick.

Power Girl as chairman? Frankly, is there a tragedy I didn't knew of that claimed about 16 Justiciers at some point?
