Kitty is intelligent, has been around for a long time, has been trained in the ways of a Samurai, has showed a natural mind for logistics and even tactics...I would buy her as a team leader just about any day of the week.

> Actually... Kitty Pride did lead the X-Men, almost twenty years ago. It was shortly after the 1ooth anniversary of the Wolvie-Nightcrawler-Colossus-Storm X-Men, when Nightcrawler was the official team leader during the simultaneous absences of Cyclops and Storm... the X-Men had to rescue Power Pack from the Morlocks and Wolverine informed Kitty that she was in charge of the team due to Kurt's absence (it happened whil he was gone for his limited series) so it was only for one issue, but it was cool. And it was when she was still portrayed as being 15/16, like Stargirl is now, as opposed to her currently when she's supposed to be 19/20 or something.

Interesting enough, the grown-up heroes at Marvel(with the exception of the X-Men) pretty much frown on teengroups.

The Young Avengers were forbidden to put on their costumes. The Runaways are exactly that, on the run. True to form, the New Warriors were(partly) responsible for the Stanford destruction, though there are plenty of grown-up heroes who would have screwed up with Nitro as well.
While at DC, no one bats an eye toward Robin.
