Well, when the series ended, I recall Robinson had an idea for a mini where Jack was in the far east, and it would have taken place while he was still officially Starman.

I also remember Charity telling Jack his fortune before he moved away from Opal City, and she told him he might become Starman again in the future, to defend his father's memory (IIRC), and when Jack asked if that was really going to happen, she said she wasn't sure and that it was still hazy.

So Robinson has talked about having story ideas for Jack before he retired, and put in a way for a post-retirement story to flow out of the series in a fashion...
