Check out her reaction to the offer of a chest symbol in All-Star #64 for a good explanation of why this would not be a good idea.

Yeah, but, scince then A LOT has occurred during her time in the DCU in general such as regaining her Pre-CoIE E-2 memories as well as being reunited with her E-2 cousin Superman and his wife only to have LOST the earlier at the hands of Pre-CoIE own E-Prime's so called "Superboy/man-Prime" during the event that was Infinite Crisis itself.

Heck, just look to that particular issue in terms of current Post-IC DCU continuity eras "New Earth" of this here title where it had Power Girl cursing her beloved dead E-2 cousin for leaving her with out a family again so soon after having encountered the E-Kingdom Come eras Superman only to shortly after decide to take up his heart felt offer for them 2 to try to become family on our "New Earth" proper.

My point being that surely Power Girl who is MORE mature now then to what she was WAY back when she was first introduced within All-Star #64 prior would be more then willing to at least contemplate having her cousin's memory honored in SOME manner like say a E-2 Superman "S" shield engraved on to her cape's golden shoulder clasp, or bar that even on to her belt buckle just as sign of SOME token of respect for her fallen cuz and his beloved memory.

She doesn't HAVE to change all together in look to that of her deceased E-2 Superman cuz, nor in name from "Power Girl" to "Superwoman" but still remain as she is come overall visual as well as Super heroine alias name only she's just chosen to add an engraving on SOME part of her costume of the E-2 Superman "S" shield just to acknowledge her dearly departed and ever beloved iconic E-2 cuz legacy and all he had stood for.
