> I disagree. Just because we were told it was going to be a big cast doesn't let Johns off the hook if people don't think the execution works. And in this day and age of decompressed storytelling and the price points of comics, I find my patience is far shorter. Writers need to realize they are still writing comics that are monthly and not direct to trades. The stories need to have the proper pacing for both.

I loved STARS AND S.T.R.I.P.E.S and thought his Hawkman was often very good for what it was. But, I have felt that his work on the JSA and the Avengers never found their focus, characters tended to be only used as plot devices, shuffled off when their particular plot played out.

Ok...fair point. I, for one, enjoy the pacing and what's going on. But if you ask five different people their opinion, you'll get five different answers.

If it's not working for you, why still buy?

Up until #13 yesterday, I didn’t. I only have half the issues of the new run, having dropped it after it got boring. I only skim an issue in the shop to see if the story is picking up. It picked up enough with #13 that I bought it.
