I love his costume! I'm not keen on the wraps on his hands though. A big part of what makes the costume neat is the monocrhomatic simplicity. I loved how Jerry Ordway drew it, clearly inspired by the Irwin Hasen sleek black design instead of the more blue-ish look.

As a guy who trains and follows most combat sports Wildcat is obviously my guy but the cat hood - hard to take.
The hand wraps are the one functional/practical part of the outfit.
I've done costume character work - just walking around with a headpiece that big is a b&*#h.
Fighting hand to hand? He passes out shadowboxing.
For you it is a cool ass archetypal costume and I can see the merits.
wish there was a happy medium.
