I was happy with Atom Smasher. I thought he was doing well as Al Pratt's "replacement." Now they have dressed up Damage in his mask. I would have been happier keeping Atom Smasher they way he was, same with Damage.
Not sure why they did this. Seems like when you get used to a character, they yank the rug out from underneath you.

I hear you. My take on things with Damage is that they had him deal with a fairly major injury and how that changed the character. I believe he has a tie to Al Pratt and thats his legacy angle. I remember Atom Smasher (Nuklon when he had that big red mohawk...hard to believe thats almost 20 years ago.lol) from his days in Infinity Inc and I hear you that the characters change from how they used to be portrayed. Do you mean that the characters are changing too fast?? Anyways I think that they had Atom Smasher cross some lines as a hero that alienated him from the JSA for a time. Also a side note Damage is about a 14 year old character.(from 94 right?)...so I hope some change happens to keep things interesting. Personally I would love to see Grant to a point where he has a great control over his powers...that would make him closer to top tier in my mind. His powers are interesting partically when you look back at his old series...which ties nicely at points into the Ray series of that time as well.
