Sorry, I can't remember if I've asked this....but it seems odd to me that PG, with her sometimes quite aggressive feminism, would feel comfortable still being referred to as a girl when she's surely an adult by now? She struck me as being a young adult even in the 1980's let alone twenty years later...

I like that Johns made the effort to explain why she runs around with her boobs hanging out everywhere rather than wearing something with a little more dignity, but even that doesn't really make sense now - now that she KNOWS she's Superman's cousin (albeit a different Superman), is there any reason she wouldn't feel as comfortable wearing the S shield as Supergirl does?

Or even changing her name to Power Woman and designing her own symbol? I know that Power Woman's a crummy name, but it's really not any worse than Power GIRL, and it gives her a bit more self-respect at least....

It's just weird to me....it seems that every comic book heroine who started out as a "Girl" (see Invisible Woman, Phoenix, Donna Troy) has moved into the present day except for the one who harps on more than any of them about self-respect and appropriate representation of women and so on....

She should call herself Power Woman. No question about it. As to why she doesn't... I doubt there's a good reason.

Nor did it ever make sense. She is the last character on Earth who should run around with her boobs hanging out. It is completely out of character and always was, right from the beginning.

I can see her wearing a different logo out of a sense of individualism. But having her breasts be her logo is ridiculous. The letter "P" would work fine. Or no logo at all - just close the hole and leave it white. That would actually look pretty good.

"Power Woman" is a perfectly fine name and it rings very true for a feminist character. She should use it.

I agree.
