How about Roy stick to writing his fanzine and let Johns do what he does, which is write good NEW stories?

My gawd, man! Don't wish for some kind of "return of Roy Thomas"... that's the last thing Dc needs right now.

Since he hasn't written anything significant for the big two in recent years I don't see how you arrive at that conclusion, he's one of Comics most significant figures who's work is still being felt.
Thomas did some very good stuff with Infinity Inc & Young All Stars, lots of good ideas and characters that not incidentally Geoff Johns has exploited and built upon to great effect. He wasn't a superstar, didn't pimp himself as anything special and neither did he charge into a job hellbent on taking numbers & making his name.
I think there's this automatic reaction that because Thomas is percieved as of the old guard he's obsolete, the fact is though his input on the JSA stable is incredibly far reaching, i think people like you forget or are just ignorant of just how deep his influence goes.

"LOL ...LMAO...*wink*... Guffaw... *sigh*..." Bwah ha ha...? \:\-\( (etc etc...)
