Did anyone feel that this issue was kind of like a holding pattern 'til we get to more action again?

The only thing I came away with was

1) Damage getting his face back. Not having a face had made him seem much more interesting to me. We'll see what this does or whether this sticks.

2) The "God" who was from the "Third World" struck me as maybe being the third world Darkseid before the Fourth World Darkseid came into existence?

I still love JSA, but this storyline seems incredibly drawn out. I don't want Johns going anywhere, but I'm looking forward to a new storyline and some reduction in team members as the JSA is just too massive right now.

CI
- so good seeing Sand again, but for how long?

It wasn't as heavy on the action as JSA usually has been in the past decade but compared to the Marvel team books it is still moving at light speed

I think this is going to turn out to be major - I don't think Damage is going to be this character's final personna. His power and personality are incredibly unstable and any kindess can have a deep influence on him. He is extremely powerful and maleable.

Good theory. He struck me as a cross between Darkseid and the Savage Hulk during a calm period. The benevolence was refreshing and the lowbrow tone was amusing and original in this type of character.

Again - I just finished all the trades for the last several years. Read like that - the incredible pace of the action for JSA is really apparent. We are just coming off a two issue punchfest so pacing wise a breather issue was kinda necessary.

Talk about a character who is constantly shifting(pun intended) you really never know where the wind is going to blow (pun intended)with this guy. Well like sands in the hour glass so go the days of our lives.
No I'm not crying, I just having something in my eye. lol
