I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in in one of the Huntress' appearances in the 70s or early 80s. Maybe in the WONDER WOMAN back-up series when Dick popped in to help Helena. Or perhaps that issue of BRAVE AND THE BOLD.

I'm going to make a few points here.

First, it was never stated that this Earth 2 was actually Earth Two. It has been pretty clearly stated that the five earths which survived the Anti-Monitor were "folded" into one another, with Earth 1 being the template and the various others shoehorned into Earth 1's history were they could.

Which is why Power Girl suddenly ceased being Superman's cousin.

One thing which has bothered me is them saying Power Girl is the last survivor of Earth 2. How? The JSA are actually survivors as well. Possibly they're saying this because Power Girl is Kara Zor-l and Super Girl is Kara Zor-El. She's the last duplicate who's survived Earth 2. Initially various duplicates survived but were killed (including Robin of Earth 2).

Anyway, they've pretty much established that the earths created in 52 were close copies of the various other earths. Why did they do this? I think DC wanted to be able to somehow include the original histories of concepts like the JSA, the Charlton heroes, the Atomic Knights, the Shazam ones, and so forth. But they quickly stated that these would not be exact copies of the orignal earths (thereby giving future writers some freedom).

As for the age thing of Earth Two, this is kind of tricky. Did they state that the JSA on Earth Two dates back to WW II? At one point DC used to claim that Earth 2 was "twenty years behind" Earth 1...this could be the case on Earth Two.

Or the various characters could have somehow had their aging processes slowed down...slightly different than what happened with the JSA on New Earth.
