I don't follow JSA regularly but I got interested in Captain Marvel thanks to Kingdom Come and I was a huge fan of the Trials of Shazam!

I truly fail to grasp how that concept didn't work for the majority of the fans. I get that there's a hard core fan base for the old school version of CM but I thought that what was attempted was really excellent in terms of bringing the character up to speed with the times. My only conclusion is 'different strokes for different folks'.

That all said, I get the impression that just about everything I liked from ToS is being wiped out. Can someone explain
    1) How B.A. could apparently outpower Billy Batson? I never had the impression that he could have gone head on with the original Wizard.
    2) Ok, the Wizard's back from the dead. (These days who isn't!?!) What's with the attitude against Billy and Freddie? Billy has only given his entire life to the Wizard's cause. Freddie seems to have not been involved at all with that particular story and was only recently judged by the SHAZAM gods themselves as being 'worthy'. So The Wizard knows better then the Wisdom of Solomon and the has more clout than the power of Zeus???

It's because of things like this that I hardly ever read DC books anymore.

What if the Wizard that they freed is not the right wizard???? remember they asked "whose sits on this Throne?" and Billys father(if that was Billys father) Said "you don't want to know". They may have release an old foe of the wizard who can take away their powers, weather the Wizard or someone else who granted them. This would solve the issue of Mary's powers and introduce possibly a new villian.
