I'd like to see Superman have his red trunks again.
Take a look at the animated DC films, tho', and see what they've done.
They did a Flashpoint movie, and after that the next film shows Superman in the "nu" costume.
The pre-Flashpoint realities seem to be gone for good. I mean, for cryin' out loud, they CHANGED SUPERMAN'S COSTUME! He was the first, and they did it to him.
DC is owned by Time Warner, and they're a bunch of suits with no feel for the characters. They want what's "with it" and "kewl". They try to appeal to, let's face it, the lowest common denominator. Make things weird, off center, violate tradition, separate characters from their roots, set things on fire, blow things up, show SUPERMAN (SUPERMAN!) with a bloody mouth again and again...
This ain't your grand-daddy's DC Universe, and the suits don't want it to be.
Even if their precious "DCnU" doesn't work.
