    Quote:
was E2 kal killed off by Val?

No, They have yet to actually face off but the clear intention from Val is that he will not kill, ever.
Really he isn't much of a fighter so what his approach will be to the savage and more ruthless Kal-el will probobly define his methods going forward.

    Quote:
And he was not raised in the contex of slavery/civil rights, so how does he view himself within the confines of his race then?

?No, as I pointed out above he has nothing whatsoever to do with civil rights or living through the worst of America's segregation.
He arrived on earth only recently and has almost no experience of what life on earth was/is like. The similarities to Icon and Blue Marvel are really only superficial because of this, Val-Zod is around 20 years old, while they are anything up to 160 years old!

    Quote:
And wouldn't he need his own Luthor around to make Him seen as the real superman?

No, why does Superman need Lex Luthor to be Superman?

Val-Zod is Superman now, but a new generation version with a different environment. His life is his own.

There would seem to be really no way though for him to be able to take down Kal unless there is a major plot device thing!

Maybe Lois finally connects firmly to Kal, and he decides to go ouit "in a bang" by trying to take down darkseid, trying to redeem his lost "humanity?"

And since val missed out all of those times, how would the Black population view someone who is now Superman, but would maybe not been associated with "being one of their own?"

And Luthorjust seems to be so ingrained into the Superman Mythos, that it would be like trying to imagine bats without the Joker ever being around!
